Former Google Executive Takes On Marketing Role At Dynasty

Dynasty Financial Partners has recruited former Google executive Gordon Abel as a senior vice president and director of marketing – a new role at the firm. Based in New York, Abel will work with Dynasty as well as its network member firms to help develop their brands and marketing strategies. More specifically, he will work in the areas of social media, thought leadership content, mobile and video as well as website and search engine best practices. He will report to Dynasty's chief executive, Shirl Penney. Abel was previously head of industry - financial services at Google, overseeing MasterCard and JP Morgan relationships. Before that, he was an executive director at JP Morgan, leading agency and strategic marketing partnerships as well as digital marketing. Earlier still, he spent five years as a director in marketing roles at BlackRock/iShares, and spent 11 years in agency management and marketing at Carat, Euro RSCG and SF Interactive, among others.
